WHERE WE ARE


The kitesurf school ProKite Sardegna is located in the South-West Sardinia, about 1 hour from Cagliari. 
More precisely, we are on the beach of Punta Trettu. in locality Matzaccara – San Giovanni Suergiu. 
The sportive club ProKite Sardegna is located in front of the sea, with direct access to the beach and a wide range of services right on the kitesurf spot.

How to get to sardinia

Sardinia is connected to Italy thanks to private companies offering ferry services. Travel time is approximately 9 hours, but it may change depending on the selected route. For most companies, you can choose between day or night travel.

The principal Ferry Companies are Grimaldi Lines, Sardinia Ferries, Moby, Tirrenia.

And relative distances from major harbors and Punta Trettu are the following:

  • Olbia: 3h 30 min
  • Golfo Aranci: 3h 40 min
  • Porto Torres: 3h 10 min
  • Cagliari: 1h 10 min
  • Arbatax: 3h 10 min

N.B.: The preceding distances are approximate and relating to car travel.

 

Sardinia offers 3 airports: Cagliari Elmas, Alghero, Olbia.

The major airport is in Cagliari and it’s also the nearest to Punta Trettu – it takes one hour by car to get to our kitesurf school.

The distances from Alghero and Olbia airports are respectively 3h and 3h 30min.

how to reach punta trettu

Once landed in Cagliari Elmas, we suggest you to take the Strada Statale 130 Iglesiente until Domusnovas. Then keep driving along Strada Statale 130 Iglesiente until you find the exit Villamassargia/Carbonia.

Left the S.S. 130, take the road SP2 until San Giovanni Suergiu (Punta Trettu’s main town).

In this way, getting to Punta Trettu results extremely easy as you will have to drive along two roads only.

ALTERNATIVE:

Cagliari offers the train station. It’s possible to take the train from Cagliari to Carbonia-Serbariu station, which is 15min far from Punta Trettu. We suggest to organise a Rental or a Taxi to get to Punta Trettu, as there are no public transport available.

 

Once landed in Alghero, we suggest to enter the road E25 in Samassi, and keep driving for 175km.

From E25, exit following the signals for Strada Statale 293 of Giba.

From S.S. 293, take the road for Iglesias.

Next step is to take Strada Statale 130 Iglesiente and keep driving until the exit of Villamassargia/Carbonia.

Left the road S.S. 130, take the road SP2 until San Giovanni Suergiu (Punta Trettu’s main town).

Once landed in Olbia or Golfo Aranci, we suggest to take the Strada Statale 131 Diramazione Nuorese following signals in the direction of Cagliari/Nuoro.

After 145km, enter E25 road, and keep driving for 80km.

From E25, exit following the signals for Strada Statale 293 of Giba.

From S.S. 293, take the road for Iglesias.

Next step is to take Strada Statale 130 Iglesiente and keep driving until the exit of Villamassargia/Carbonia.

WHAT TO DO NEAR PUNTA TRETTU


There is a wide pine forest beside the kitesurf school and it’s possible to have walks, trekking tours and horse-riding excursions. It’s also possible to come with the camper, stay in the pine forest and camping in front of the sea.
The island of Sant’Antioco is 10 minutes far by car. There are wonderful beaches as Cala Sapone, Spiaggia Grande, Spiaggia delle Saline, Maladroxia which receive a large number of tourists every year. The city of Sant’Antioco offers great fish restaurants, museums and hosts various music concerts during summer.  
Ten minutes far, West direction, the city of Portoscuso welcomes you with its lovely historic center and the beach of Porto Paglietto.
Furthermore, driving along the west coast, you can reach the beaches of Masua, Porto Flavia, Pan di Zucchero (climbing excursions), Cala Domestica.
Along the East direction from Punta Trettu you can find beautiful beaches like Porto Pino (20min), Teulada (40min), Chia (50min) and Cagliari
